Girls JV Volleyball - The team is comprised of 5th & 6th grade girls. This is a very informal league. The regular season is comprised of 8 – 10 matches with no playoffs. The coaches in this league determine the dates, times and location of the games. Home games are played in the QOH gym. Practices generally start in the beginning of September and the season ends in mid-October. This is a great introduction to the game and preparation for varsity. Volley – lite volleyballs are used at this level.
Girls Varsity Volleyball - Queen of Heaven participates in a Diocesan girls varsity volleyball league. The season starts in early September and ends in early November. The league consists of 12 - 14 matches that could fall on any day of the week or weekend. Throughout the season there may be several double headers. Generally, half of the matches will be at home and half will be on the road depending upon gym availability. The matches are best of three games with rally scoring. Typically, our varsity team participates in one tournament at St. Mary's in Lancaster in early October (All tournament costs are covered by the QOH sports program). If the team does well, there is a Diocesan playoff tournament that ends the season in early November. Parental volunteers for scoreboard operation at home games and line judging at ALL games is requested.
1) Please send the Permission Form and a $15 check in an envelope marked “Sports” to the school office by the last day of school. Roster spots cannot be guaranteed if you do not sign up by the end of this school year.
2) Valid Sports Medical Physical Form must also be on file with the School Nurse. If you do not have a valid Sports Physical Form call your child’s Doctor. If your child’s medical form at the school is NOT valid you will be notified. The Medical Sports Physical Form is good for 1 year. If it valid the first day of that sport’s practice it will be considered valid for that sport’s season.
Both forms must be turned into the School Office or to the coach before any player can practice.
