Welcome to the Queen of Heaven School web page.  We are happy you have chosen to learn more about our school and encourage you to take a virtual tour by clicking the link below.

The mission of Queen of Heaven School is to educate children in a faith-filled Catholic environment that provides a foundation for life by fostering academic excellence, moral integrity, and service to others. We have a close working relationship with our parish and an active Home School Guild. Together, we support activities such as the annual Queen of Heaven Carnival and weekly BINGO in the parish hall.

Queen of Heaven School received its accreditation from the Middle States Association in 2011. We serve students from eight different area school districts and numerous parishes. Students in grades Pre-K4 through 8 participate in a rigorous academic program that, in addition to core subjects, includes art, music, library, physical education, and technology classes. We also provide our students a variety of extracurricular activities that enrich the educational experience. Clubs that are available to our students include Art Club, Science Club, Ski Club, Hand Bell Choir, and Chorus. Our sports programs include baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, track, cross country and softball.

Our graduates excel in high school, college, and their careers. Students entering high school consistently qualify for honors and advanced placement courses and earn scholarship money. In the past three years alone, Queen of Heaven students have received over a half of a million dollars in high school scholarships!

Message from HSG President

Dear Parents of Queen of Heaven,

I would like to start out by thanking all of the parents who have participated either by volunteering or attending the fundraisers we have had this year that have supported the Home School Guild. I would also like to thank the teachers, Miss Ryan and especially Father Tom for their support and encouragement of everything we, as a group, have tried to do to better the school. A little over a year ago, I attended my first HSG meeting, even though my children had been in the school for about 6 years. I always had the feeling that whatever needed to get done would get done and my wife and I just put in the minimum required hours of time. Now after getting more involved, I realize what I had been missing. I have met more great people, have renewed old friendships and have had a lot of fun working different events at the school.

Since becoming President of HSG I have started looking into other Catholic schools in our surrounding area as far as their volunteer hour requirements and their tuition. We have one of the lowest tuitions in the area and by far the least amount of volunteer hours required at fundraising events. Even with this, we are still one of the strongest Catholic schools around. However, we still need to do a lot more and get more people involved if we want our school to remain one of the best in the region. Another key issue that we must work on is enrollment. We need to start talking up the school to other people we come in contact with, in the hopes that they might consider Queen of Heaven for their children.

As most of you are aware, changes will be made in the next few years within the diocese in regards to the number of Catholic schools that will remain open. This is why it is important that we all pull together as a family of Queen of Heaven in order that our school will remain as strong as ever. This involves everyone working together and keeping a positive outlook for the school’s future. I truly understand that families are very busy and schedules sometimes make it difficult for people to attend some meetings or volunteer at certain events. I would like to request, that if possible, one parent from each family attend this week’s upcoming HSG meeting (Thursday at 7:00 in the Church Hall). The meetings are only ½ hour to 1 hour and we discuss our fundraising activities in a very positive and open forum. It is vital that all families partake in bringing ideas to the table and participate in upcoming events.

For those of you that I have never met before or will not be able to attend the meeting, I, or one of the HSG officers, will be contacting you so that we could meet at your convenience. We would like to discuss with you the goals and needs of Queen of Heaven and how you are a big part of making our future strong. As always, please feel free to contact me with any ideas or concerns you may have regarding the Home School Guild (652-2540 or cmack_91@msn.com). Thank you for your time and I look forward to seeing you on Thursday.

Sincerely,
Dale McCormick
