The Eighth Grade Religion Classes at Queen of Heaven School, was proud to have adopted, as part of their Community Service project this year, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Mrs. Karen Swierski, the Executive Director of the foundation, presented to the students information about Type 1 and 2 Diabetes, how to be aware of signs of Diabetes, and how to eat healthy if you were ever diagnosed with Diabetes. The students then presented to their fellow classmates powerpoints and posters and gave the students not only additional information, stories, and pamphlets, but gave the students healthy snacks, and led the students in a rigorous exercise program. The Eighth Grade, together, with the entire student body was able to raise $250.00 to present to Mrs. Swierski, to help in the research to find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.
