Spring is in air! The last bit of snow banks outside of our classrooms have melted. We are all looking forward to warmer weather!
Yesterday our PK-1st grade students were surprised by a visit from Shamus the Leprechaun in their classrooms. Lots of green excitement in the air.
Earlier this week we recognized and celebrated over 91% of the students in grades 3-8 for their outstanding achievements on the second trimester report cards. Many of the students went above and beyond last trimester and earned a higher average than in the first trimester. We congratulate all of the students on Merit and Honor Roll. Keep up the good work!
Today we are looking forward to experiencing our Passover celebration and Stations of the Cross together. A special thank you to Ms. Martina, Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Ketry, Mrs. Carr, and our 6th graders for putting together a beautiful combination of the old and new testament.
When we come back from break we will be in the last week of March and preparations for our state testing will be underway. During the first two weeks of April our third through eighth grade students will be take standardize testing in both ELA and Math. The data that comes from these tests gives our teachers concrete evidence that drives their instruction for the next year.
Save the date for our Fine Arts Night on May 3 from 6:00-8:00. All of our students will have their art mounted and on display for purchase. We will also have opportunities to experience and create art in the form of photography, dance, and music. More information on the night will be coming upon our return from break!
Our open enrollment is moving along swiftly. Please remember that if you are sending a student to our 4 year-old program, we need to know immediately. At this point we have only a few spaces left to fill. Also, if your child is moving on to kindergarten, you must register him/her at your local district office, as well, as our school. For all re-registrations, the enrollment fee increases to $125 after March 31.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful break and a joyous Easter celebration. I look forward to seeing everyone back at school on March 29!
God bless us on our journey together, Mary Damico, Principal
