The 10th of this month wraps up our Toys for Tots campaign. I know that children in our area will be thrilled with the unwrapped toys that have been coming into the building. A Marine Corp representative will be coming to school on December 18 to collect the toys. Afterwards we will enjoy some holiday entertainment from the Immaculata VoxCaeciliae performers. Please join us on this day at 8:30 a.m.
On December 11 we will have our finalists compete in the Geography Bee! Finalists include: 8th Graders Brian Finnerty
Gianna Pezzino, Tim Kurucz, Mary Catherine Cook, Colin Cieslica,7th Graders Patrick Healy, Andrew Hartnett, Patrick Henshaw, and 6th graders Michael Suda and Zachary Kent. The competition will begin at 8:30 in gym.
On December 12 we will be having our first ever Shepherd’s Mass. This will be a lovely children’s Mass of giving. The homerooms are collecting gifts to give to the patients at the Veterans’ Hospital. Shepherds and sheep will be bringing the gifts to the altar following the beat from the Drummer Boy. What a great way to honor those who served in the military and display true, unselfish giving during the holiday season. Please join us for what is sure to be a special Queen of Heaven tradition. (For a list a items to donate, please see page 5.)
On December 20 the annual Christmas Concert is back! This year it will start at 9:00 a.m. Our title is “The Living Nativity-A Children’s Christmas Concert”. Please plan on bringing the whole family to this event with new, original music by Bill Texido, art background from Kari Achatz and the Art Club, the Righteous Ringers Bell Choir, and each individual class. The eighth grade parents will be selling coffee and doughnuts for those that come early! A reception for families will be held immediately following in the homerooms. Dismissal is at 11:30 a.m. If your child WILL be taking a bus home, please notify the office by December 13.
God bless us all on this journey together!
