We are definitely into Winter now! At this publication we have had to cancel 2 days of after school activities but no full days of school. I’m leaning on Mother Nature to have compassion on us this year and not have snow days. In the end though, it is out of hands. The deciding factor for district leaders is to look at the weather at the time the students will be getting to and from school safely. Remember that our school does follow the West Seneca district for after school activities cancellations and snow days.
Tomorrow we are getting ready for our first STREAM Night featuring our teachers’ experiments and the Star Lab from the Museum of Science. This should be a great event for all.
Our Grandparents and Special friends lunch is on 2/1. This is the first attempt at having a community event such as this. Our first lunch is at 11:00. Guest should come to the front door and check in at the registration table for your seating assignment. The students will be waiting for you at their assigned table. Please bring your own lunches/drinks. The faculty will be providing a variety of desserts for you to enjoy. Lunch ends at 11:45. Students will be going back to the gym with their teachers for a pre-show before the afternoon entertainment. Guests are welcome to stay or return to work/home. The next lunch is at 12:00. Students will be in the gym enjoying the pre-show entertainment. After checking in at the registration table, guests will be asked to pick up the students in the gym and proceed to their assigned tables. Lunch will end at 12:45. Afternoon entertainment will begin promptly at 1:00. Students will be sitting with their homerooms for the Quizmaster performance. Guests are welcome to stay. Please note that this a regular school day and it is expected that students will return to their homeroom for dismissal. Because multiple grade levels will be at both lunches please be sure to get your reservation in by 1/22.
As we always do, we are asking for $10 per child ($30 per family) to be sent in to cover the cost of the many activities that are on tap for Catholic Schools Week. This includes our events, special lunch surprises, Fun Day Lunch, and our contribution to Catholic Charities. Thank you for sending this by January 25.
We are already almost in the 6th week of this trimester. At this time our Preschoolers will be having their first Parent-Teacher Conferences to assess their progress. There will be no preschool in session on January 29.
God bless us all on this journey together! ~Mary Damico, Principal
