Just like that we have reached the end of October. We have so many things to look forward to!
Tomorrow after mass we will join the nation-wide reading of The Bear Ate Your Sandwich read by our guest reader, Father Dave. You are invited to join us for this delightful book and have your name join the hundreds of others that will be reading this book on the same day to promote literacy! This weekend is our Halloween parties for PK-5 and 6-8. It is not too late to RSVP. Please let the HSG volunteers know that you are coming!
Next Monday the school will be awash in Halloween costumes at the end of the day. Please check with your child’s teacher for information regarding this day. Our Halloween parade begins at 1:30 with our middle school in the gym. If you are coming to the school for this event, please be sure to sign in at the office and where a yellow visitor’s pass.
In light of the events of these past few days, please remember that out of respect to our teachers and the safety of our children, parents should not be walking students to their classrooms in the morning or entering the classrooms unannounced at any time. Our procedure for volunteers in the school is to sign in/out at the office and to wear a yellow visitor’s badge while in the building. Classroom visitations are by invitation only.
This Tuesday at the Home School meeting I will be sharing with information on state mandated fire drills and active shooting drills. Officer Rybak, Fr. Greg and I met last month to schedule our first drill before Thanksgiving. This information and other safety procedures will be discussed at the meeting. For those that can’t attend, I will be sending home a letter with the same information in next week’s Family Envelope.
God bless us on our journey together, ~Mary Damico, Principal
