Academic Intervention Services

Students at Queen of Heaven who are struggling are offered Academic Intervention Services to help them achieve success in the classroom. In addition to small group intervention, Queen of Heaven also utilizes an online program called i-Ready that helps support teachers to focus on each students individual needs. Students are assessed using the i-Ready diagnostic program three times a school year; this allows teachers to keep an ongoing record of assessment. 

During the AIS times with classes, teachers will be focusing on foundational skills and comprehension in the primary grades.In Grades 3-5 there will be more of a concentrated emphasis on comprehension skills and strategies to master comprehension proficiency.  Additionally, students will also have individualized i-Ready online instructional lessons 1-2 times per week based on their schedules. Students are also offered AIS services after school on a as needed basis.
