Student Life

Students at Queen of Heaven School are involved in many special events in and out of school. We place a strong emphasis on community service, living our faith and creating a strong relationship with fellow classmates. Students attend a weekly Mass as a school community. Students also prepare a monthly prayer service so they know that they are an integral part of faith and worship at school.

At Queen of Heaven School we believe in a strong school community involving all students. Once a month students participate in the Buddy program. Students connect with fellow classmates and share an activity, story or snack. Buddy Day helps to build school spirit and helps students to grow closer as a school community. Older students at Queen of Heaven serve as role models for their younger Buddy, helping them to grow in faith, knowledge and grace. Check out "The Q Gallery" for videos and images of Buddy Day activities.

Students at Queen of Heaven school are involved in many learning experiences that happen outside of the classroom. Every year the 8th grade class of Queen of Heaven School takes a class trip that results in lasting friendships and memories. To enhance the Common Core curriculum our students have attend field trips to The Challenger Learning Center, The Albright Knox Art Gallery, T.O.Y, The Buffalo Botanical Gardens, The Riviera Theater, The Rochester Museum of Play, The Vigilant Fire Station, and Zittel's Farm to name a few.

Community Service is an integral part of life at Queen of Heaven School. 7th grade students must complete a minimum of 10 hours of community service in Religion class. In the past students have volunteered at many local organizations such as The Food Bank of WNY, The SPCA, and  Light the Night Walk. As a school we  participate in many community service projects such as Bottles for Babies to benefit Harvest House, The Empty Bowl Project to benefit the Food Bank of WNY as well as a yearly giving tree during the
Christmas season.
