This is it! Our final newsletter of the year. I hope that you found this form of communication informative and enjoyable. A special thanks to all our teachers that contribute to the newsletter.
This has been a fast year! It seems like just yesterday, we were welcoming in our preschoolers and now they have moved up and out of the building! Our kindergarten students will be graduating this Friday. The school gradually becomes quieter and quieter. Our 8th graders are showing signs of being done as well. They are preparing for finals and eagerly awaiting their class trip and graduation. I’m so proud of the students and all that they have accomplished. Many of them came to the school for the first time a short three years ago. Now it seems as if they have been here the whole time. They have come together as a class and have been great role models and friends to their kindergarten buddies. We wish them all the best.
Thank you to all the parents that came out last week to help with our school picnic. What a perfect day to be outside! Once again, and for the final time, Mrs. Mendola gave everyone something to enjoy about the day! Congratulations and thank you to our new HSG officers: Mrs. Hunger, President and Mrs. Jurcevic, Treasurer. Thank you to Karen Bartnik and Cory Wierzbowski for fulfilling these roles so dutifully.
As we look into the future, we will be welcoming many new families to Queen of Heaven. Next year I will be implementing a Sponsor Family program to help new families (or existing families) connect with a family that is already in our community. It is a great way to make new friends and to increase our participation in all of the events! If you are interested, please see the form on page 6 of this newsletter. Thank you for considering it.
As we welcome Fr. Luke to our community next week, we also sadly say good-bye to our friend Seminarian Bob Owczarczak. Please keep him in your prayers. He has been such a wonderful asset to our school and to our students!
I hope that everyone has a wonderful and restful summer. I look forward to seeing you at the Carnival!
God bless us on our journey together, Mary Damico, Principal
